This was a great story about a girl who is about to go to prom....stag. Her mother is keeping herself busy with work to keep her mind off her husband's Afghanistan deployment. The night before the prom mom gets the call saying her father has been hurt and her mother will be leaving to get to the military hospital. Now, she not only has to go to prom alone now no one will be there to see her off. Then things get even worse.

This is a great modern story. It's not perfect, with a technical error here and there, but it's really worth a read. I recommend for anyone who likes young adult works.
The story line in this VERY short story, was okay. Very superficial heroine with no character development. I didn't finish it, mostly because the italic font was miserable to read.
This is a cute, fairly clean short story. It isn't fantastic or a must-read, but it is enjoyable to read when you are on an airplane and need something to distract you.
My first kindle read I wanted to try a short story. This one was perfect! Very sweet but relatable on many levels even though I'm not in my teens. I appreciated the mix of humor and tears. Now I can't wait to download the next in the Lexie and Rhett series.
I really enjoyed reading this short story. It was a good read.

This story leaves a smile in your face. The main character Lexie is a brave and kind person. Even though life is not always perfect, sometimes unexpectedly, good things do happen out of our most challenging life experiences. We should always try to believe and be true to ourselves!... )
This short story touches on many of today's teen issues prom night, dating, pregnancy fears, and the war in Afghanistan. Lexy is braving the prom as a single, but all does not work out that night. In fact, it is a disaster.

But all is not lost, with the help of her friends, Lexy gets what she truly needs.

This is a feel good story to read on a gray afternoon. While the issue are older teen, it is delivered in a way that younger teens can understand.
