Great anthology of horror with a bit of dark erotica. I love "Slash of Crimson" itself; this is my third reading and it gets better each time. The characters and dialog are real and could be people you know. The sexual tension hits the sweet spot, not too much then slowly easing so that you want more. The story flows along smoothly, drawing you in and once you're comfortable, Moore shocks you and takes your breath away.

The stories reach deep into your psyche. It has been a while since any book gave me that terrifying yet thrilling adrenaline rush and Moore does it a few times in his book, "The Red Path" creeped me out so much that I had to wait until the morning to continue reading the book. If you are looking for something to reach up and grab you, then read this book!!

Slash of Crimson and Other Tales edition by Carl R Moore Margie Colton Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I highly recommend this collection of unique, disturbing, and horrific tales that will haunt your nightmares. Not your run-of-the-mill horror. Dark and imaginative, with devils, mythical creatures, and other hellish forms of the macabre.
If you are tired of the run of the mill good vs. evil stories, then this is for you!

Stories with strong character development that keep you wondering where the line is drawn.

Surrealism is the backdrop to stories that hint at Lovecraftian horrors, and yet, what choices would YOU make if you were thrust into these scenarios?

A great read for nights alone, but don't read them while you're alone. Not if you want to sleep!
Moore has a way of moving from the everyday to the macabre, from the humorous to the horrific that really is quite breathtaking. He also has a great sense of place, putting the reader in a familiar, identifiable setting, before ripping your lungs out with a quick right turn to the dark side. He connects you with his often hapless protagonists and then submits them (and you) to nightmarish scenarios. Not for the faint of heart, but for those who like their blood and guts in a to-go box, this is for you.
